Tehran: Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Tehran on Friday as Iran launched a large national mobilisation campaign amid continuing tensions in the Middle East.
The campaign, known as “Janfaday E Iran”, is being presented by Iranian authorities as an effort to strengthen national preparedness and defence capabilities.
Iranian officials said more than 600,000 people have registered, while more than 1 million people are expected to receive training. These figures have been announced by Iranian authorities and could not be independently verified.
