Hamas has agreed in principle to a phased disarmament roadmap as part of a broader proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza and advancing a long-term ceasefire, according to multiple international media reports.

Under the proposed roadmap, Hamas would gradually surrender and place its weapons under the supervision of a new Palestinian administrative body. The process would be monitored by an international verification mechanism and would take place alongside the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Hamas said its acceptance of the roadmap is conditional on Israel implementing a complete ceasefire, withdrawing its forces from Gaza, and allowing the establishment of a new Palestinian administration to govern the territory. The group has stated that disarmament and Israeli withdrawal should proceed simultaneously.

The proposed agreement also includes plans for a transitional Palestinian governing body, expanded humanitarian aid, international oversight, and the long-term reconstruction of Gaza. Independent monitors would verify the implementation of each phase before the process moves forward.

While the announcement has been described as a significant diplomatic development, the proposal has not yet been fully implemented. Several key issues, including the timeline for Israeli withdrawal, Hamas’ disarmament, and Gaza’s future governance, remain under negotiation.
