Cyber Crimes Awareness Program Held at FTCCI

A comprehensive Cyber Crimes Self-Awareness Program was organized at FTCCI, Red Hills, Nampally as part of the ongoing “Jaagrut Hyderabad – Surakshit Hyderabad” initiative. The session was led by DCP Central Zone Smt. K. Shilpa Valli, IPS, ACP Saifabad Sri R. Sanjay Kumar, and Inspector K. Narayana Reddy of Nampally Police Station.

The program aimed to equip students with critical knowledge about the fast-evolving landscape of cyber threats. Officials highlighted the growing risks of online job scams, APK links, betting applications, fraudulent loan apps, matrimonial frauds, digital arrest scams, and OTP based frauds.

DCP Shilpa Valli emphasized the need for young people to remain vigilant in the digital world. She advised students not to trust unsolicited calls, suspicious links, unknown apps, or offers that claim easy earnings. Students were strictly cautioned against sharing OTPs, passwords, or banking details, and were warned about fake video calls and malicious APK files.

During the session, awareness videos were showcased to help students identify real-life cyber fraud patterns. The event concluded with a Cyber Safety Pledge, reaffirming the commitment to responsible and secure online behaviour.

Authorities urged students to report any cybercrime immediately by calling 1930 or using the national portal cybercrime.gov.in, underscoring the importance of collective awareness in building a safer digital ecosystem.
