A court in Khammam has sentenced two accused persons to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh each in a ganja possession case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to case details, Khammam-I Town Police had arrested the accused at Platform No. 1 of the Khammam RTC Bus Stand in 2018 after recovering around 3.5 kg of ganja from their possession.
The Special Sessions Court for NDPS cases in Khammam found both accused guilty and awarded 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a ₹1 lakh fine each.
The verdict comes as part of continued efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb illegal drug possession and trafficking in Telangana.
