The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) organized a large scale Anti Drug Awareness Programme on Tuesday at RTC Kalabhavan, Old Nallakunta, reaching nearly 1,200 students as part of its ongoing campaign to build a drug free society.
The awareness session focused on educating students about the harmful effects of narcotic drug abuse and its serious consequences on physical and mental health, education, and future career opportunities. Officials urged students to stay vigilant, resist peer pressure and make informed decisions that promote a healthy and drug free lifestyle.
During the programme, H-NEW officials emphasized that substance abuse not only affects individuals but also has a negative impact on families and society. Students were encouraged to seek guidance from parents, teachers, or law enforcement authorities if they encounter drug-related activities or feel pressured to experiment with narcotics.
The event witnessed the participation of around 1,200 students, along with faculty members and officials of the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing. Interactive sessions helped students better understand the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of preventing substance abuse at an early stage.
The programme is part of H-NEW’s continuous public awareness campaign aimed at empowering young people with the knowledge and confidence to reject drugs and contribute towards a safer, healthier Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Police reiterated their commitment to building a Drug Free Hyderabad through regular awareness programmes, community engagement, and strict enforcement against narcotics related offences.
