Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp attack on the BJP during a public event in Lucknow, accusing the ruling party of betraying public trust and expressing confidence that the Samajwadi Party-led PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) alliance will form the government after the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Addressing party workers and supporters, Akhilesh said the BJP would face rejection from the people, declaring that the party would receive “No donation, No contribution and No vote” in the upcoming elections. He claimed that public dissatisfaction with the BJP has grown over issues such as inflation, unemployment, and governance.

In one of his strongest remarks, Akhilesh stated, “Jo Ram ka paisa khayega, wahi BJP kehlayega” (“The one who eats Ram’s money will be called BJP”), alleging that the ruling party has misused public funds and exploited religious sentiments for political purposes.

He also reiterated that the PDA strategy bringing together Backward Classes, Dalits and Minorities would be the foundation of the Samajwadi Party’s campaign for the 2027 elections. According to Akhilesh, this social alliance represents the majority of the state’s population and will play a decisive role in defeating the BJP.

The BJP has rejected similar allegations in the past, maintaining that its policies are focused on development, welfare and good governance. The party has also accused the Samajwadi Party of making politically motivated statements ahead of the next assembly election.

With the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections still months away, political parties have begun intensifying their campaigns, with both the BJP and the opposition seeking to strengthen their support base across the state.
