The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have announced a protest in Hyderabad on Friday, April 17, in connection with what they describe as issues related to “Corporate jihad” “Love jihad” and “Land jihad”
The demonstration is scheduled to take place near the Veer Savarkar statue at the Kacheguda crossroads, beginning at 7:30 pm. It is being organized by the Vidyanagar Zilla (Barkatpura Bhaag) units of the groups.
The protest call comes amid an ongoing case in Nashik involving a corporate workplace, where several employees have been arrested on allegations of sexual harassment and claims related to religious coercion. The case has drawn wider attention, with the organisations linking it to broader concerns about workplace safety and alleged targeting.
In a statement, the organisers have demanded stricter implementation of workplace safety measures, including mandatory audits in IT companies and multinational corporations to prevent harassment and discrimination. They also called for stronger enforcement of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and swift action against those accused in such cases.
The terms “Corporate jihad” “Love jihad” and “Land jihad” are used by some right wing groups to describe alleged patterns of targeting and influence. However, these claims remain controversial and have been widely disputed, with critics stating that they lack verified evidence and contribute to social tensions.
Authorities are expected to monitor the situation closely to ensure that the protest proceeds peacefully. No incidents of violence related to the demonstration have been reported so far.
The development highlights the ongoing debate around workplace safety, communal narratives, and the need for verified information in sensitive cases.
