Hyderabad: In a joint operation, the Rajendranagar Zone Task Force and Attapur Police busted an illegal gambling racket involving matka and card based gambling, arresting seven persons during a raid conducted within the Attapur Police Station limits.
A case has been registered at Attapur Police Station as Crime No. 816/2026 under Section 112 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 9(i) of the Telangana Gaming Act.
During the operation, police seized ₹17,740 in cash, five mobile phones, and two sets of playing cards allegedly used for organizing and conducting illegal gambling activities.
The accused have been produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of S. Srinivas, Rajendranagar Zone DCP, with guidance from K. Srinivasa Rao and T. Srinivas. The raid was led by A. Sitaiah and K. Ravi, along with the Task Force team.
Senior police officials appreciated the efforts of the officers involved in the successful operation, reaffirming their commitment to taking strict action against illegal gambling activities in the city.
