Several political, social, educational and trade union leaders from Telangana joined the Jana Sena Party (JSP) in Hyderabad on Friday in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and party president Pawan Kalyan. The induction is seen as part of Jana Sena’s strategy to strengthen its presence in Telangana ahead of future elections.
Among the prominent new entrants were:
- Prof. D. Ravinder, former Vice-Chancellor of Telangana University and former Osmania University professor.
- Misala Srinivas Rao, former Praja Rajyam and Yuva Rajyam leader and former Telangana Praja Sanghala JAC district chairman.
- Devarakonda Ram Mohan Rao, former Hyderabad district secretary of the Telugu Nadu Trade Union Council (TNTUC) and former head of the Durgabai Deshmukh Hospital Employees Union.
- Several advocates, social activists, educationists and employee union leaders from different parts of Telangana also joined the party.
Welcoming the new members, Pawan Kalyan said Jana Sena is committed to building a strong organizational base in Telangana and invited more people to join the party. The recruits said they were inspired by his leadership and the party’s ideology.
The induction comes weeks after Pawan Kalyan announced that Jana Sena would actively contest future elections in Telangana, including the 2028 Assembly polls, as part of the party’s expansion beyond Andhra Pradesh.
