The Election Commission of India (ECI) has once again revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana, extending the house to house enumeration exercise by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) till August 10.
The extension was announced after election authorities reviewed the progress of the ongoing voter verification drive. Officials said the additional time will help BLOs complete pending field visits and ensure that all eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls.
Under the revised schedule, BLOs will continue visiting households to verify voter details and collect completed enumeration forms. Citizens who have not yet submitted their forms are advised to do so before the revised deadline to avoid any issues during the electoral roll revision process.
After the enumeration process is completed, the Election Commission will publish the draft electoral roll. Voters will then have an opportunity to file claims and objections for any additions, deletions, or corrections before the final voter list is prepared.
The Special Intensive Revision aims to update the electoral database by verifying voter information, removing duplicate or ineligible entries, and ensuring that all eligible citizens are included in the voter list ahead of upcoming elections.
