Khairatabad Police Solve Bus Gold Theft Case

Khairatabad Police have successfully solved a gold ornament theft case involving a passenger travelling on a private bus from Andhra Pradesh to Sangareddy district. The police arrested the accused and recovered the entire stolen property weighing approximately 62 grams of gold jewellery.

According to police, the victim had lodged a complaint after discovering that gold ornaments kept in a handbag had gone missing during the journey. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at the Khairatabad Police Station and an investigation was launched.

During the course of the investigation, police analysed technical evidence and other crucial leads, which led to the identification of the accused as Tatapudi Tella Raja alias Raju (48), a resident of Darshi village in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

The accused was apprehended by the police team and, during interrogation, confessed to committing the offence. Acting on his confession, police recovered the entire stolen gold jewellery weighing around 62 grams.

Further investigation revealed that the accused has a criminal history, with several cases registered against him in Hyderabad as well as in Andhra Pradesh. He also admitted his involvement in other theft cases registered under the limits of L.B. Nagar and Saifabad police stations.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Panjagutta Division ACP Sri K. Sanjay Kumar. The investigation team, led by Khairatabad SHO Sri B. Venkat Reddy and Detective Inspector Sri M. Balaswamy, played a key role in cracking the case and recovering the stolen property.

Police have advised travellers to remain vigilant while carrying valuables during journeys. They also urged travel operators to strengthen security measures by ensuring effective CCTV surveillance and proper verification of passengers to prevent such incidents in the future.
