Israel Expects Prolonged Fighting with Iran as Trump Urges Immediate Halt to Attacks

Israel-Iran Trump Urges Immediate Halt to Attacks

The conflict between Israel and Iran showed no signs of easing on Monday, with the Israeli military warning that fighting could continue for several more days, while U.S. President Donald Trump called on both sides to immediately stop hostilities.

According to Israeli military officials, the country is preparing for an extended period of confrontation following renewed exchanges of missile and air strikes between the two regional rivals. The military said it expects several more days of fighting as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East.

The latest escalation comes after Israel carried out strikes on Iranian military targets and a petrochemical facility in southwestern Iran. Tehran responded by launching missiles toward Israel, triggering air-raid alerts and further raising fears of a wider regional conflict.

Breaking his nearly 12 hour public silence on the crisis, President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that “Israel and Iran must immediately stop shooting.” The statement reflected growing international concern that continued military action could derail diplomatic efforts and destabilize the region further.

Trump has reportedly been pushing for de-escalation and renewed diplomatic engagement, warning that further attacks could undermine ongoing efforts to prevent a broader war in the Middle East.

With both sides exchanging threats and military strikes, global attention remains focused on whether diplomatic channels can prevent the conflict from expanding into a wider regional confrontation. Rising tensions have also renewed concerns about energy markets, regional security and international stability
