Hyderabad: In a major anti narcotics operation, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with the Hussainialam Police Station, dismantled a drug supply network operating in the city and arrested two persons allegedly involved in the procurement and distribution of narcotic substances.

The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence and under the directions of the Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mohd. Saif (31), a resident of Charminar, Hyderabad and Sameer Babubhai Waghela (25), a resident of Kurla West, Mumbai. According to the police, one was allegedly operating as a local drug peddler while the other acted as a transporter of narcotic substances.

During the raid, police seized 120 grams of OG (Hydroponic Cannabis), 5 grams of Cocaine, 27 LSD blots, two mobile phones, and a Maruti Suzuki Baleno car. The total value of the seized narcotics and property is estimated at ₹13.24 lakh.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Mohd. Saif allegedly procured drugs from an absconding supplier based in Mumbai through Sameer Babubhai Waghela. The narcotics were then reportedly distributed to customers across Hyderabad through a local network for illegal financial gain.

Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest the absconding supplier and identify other individuals linked to the drug trafficking network.

A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and further investigation is in progress.

Hyderabad City Police appealed to citizens to remain alert and report any information related to drug trafficking. Police assured that the identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
