The EAGLE Force of Telangana Police has reported the forfeiture of movable assets valued at around ₹25 lakh in connection with a narcotics trafficking case investigated by Edullabayyaram Police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
According to the police, the action relates to Crime No. 136/2021 registered under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
During the investigation, police had earlier seized 50 kg of ganja, valued at approximately ₹25 lakh, along with three cars. Several accused persons, including Pallapu Raghu, were apprehended in connection with the case, according to the press note.
Financial Investigation
- Police said the investigation was subsequently expanded to examine the financial links and assets allegedly connected with proceeds from drug trafficking.
- As part of what the EAGLE Force described as a “Follow the Money” approach, investigators examined ownership records, registration certificates, purchase invoices and other documents to trace the asset trail associated with the accused, their associates and relatives.
- The financial investigation identified movable assets including a Mahindra XUV500, Toyota Innova and TVS Jupiter motorcycle, with a combined value of around ₹25 lakh.
- According to the police, the assets were forfeited on September 22, 2026, under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, following confirmation by the competent authority at Chennai.
Police Focus on Financial Networks
- The EAGLE Force said the action reflects an enforcement strategy that goes beyond the seizure of narcotics and focuses on the financial structures that may support drug trafficking.
- Police said investigations can examine various aspects of the narcotics network, including procurement, transportation, distribution, financial transactions and the acquisition of assets allegedly using illicit proceeds.
- The police stated that the forfeiture proceedings are intended to prevent proceeds allegedly generated through narcotics trafficking from being retained or converted into assets.
- The investigation and related legal proceedings will continue in accordance with law.
- The EAGLE Force has appealed to members of the public to share information concerning the procurement, transportation, storage, sale, distribution or financing of narcotics.
