UAE Would Face “Total Disaster” in War With Iran, Says John Mearsheimer

UAE War With Iran

Political scientist John Mearsheimer has warned that a direct military conflict between United Arab Emirates and Iran could have devastating consequences for the Gulf nation.

Speaking during an interview with Glenn Diesen, Mearsheimer argued that the UAE would be “No match” for Iran in a military confrontation. He said Tehran has the capability to severely damage critical infrastructure across the Emirates, especially desalination facilities and energy installations that are essential for the country’s survival and economy.

Mearsheimer described such a scenario as “A total disaster” warning that attacks on water and energy infrastructure could cripple daily life and economic activity in the UAE within a short period.

During the discussion, he also questioned why the UAE continues to align itself closely with the United States and Israel in policies directed against Iran. According to Mearsheimer, Gulf states would benefit more from maintaining stable and practical relations with Tehran rather than becoming involved in broader regional tensions.

The political analyst further claimed that if the combined military strength of the United States and Israel could not decisively defeat Iran, then smaller regional powers would stand little chance in any direct conflict with Tehran.

His remarks come amid continuing tensions in the Middle East over regional Security, Military alliances and Concerns about a wider confrontation involving Iran, Israel and US-backed allies in the Gulf region.
