Telangana Orders Major Reshuffle 45 IAS Officers Transferred

In a major administrative reshuffle, the Telangana government has ordered the transfer of 45 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across key departments and districts. The move, announced through an official notification, is part of a routine exercise aimed at improving governance, strengthening field administration and ensuring smoother implementation of government programmes.

The reshuffle includes changes at the level of district collectors, municipal commissioners and senior secretariat officials. Several officers have been given new responsibilities in departments such as revenue, urban development, health and social welfare. A few have been shifted from field postings to secretariat roles, while others have been moved from administrative departments to district level assignments.

Officials said the transfers were carried out after a review of administrative performance and service requirements. The government maintained that the reshuffle is intended to bring fresh momentum to public service delivery and improve coordination between departments.

Sources in the administration indicated that priority has been given to placing experienced officers in districts facing development challenges and in departments handling major welfare schemes. Newly assigned collectors and commissioners are expected to take charge immediately and focus on accelerating pending projects.

The large scale transfer has drawn attention as it is one of the biggest reshuffles in recent months. While such changes are common in state administrations, a reshuffle of this size is seen as a signal of the government’s intent to tighten administrative control and enhance efficiency.

Further details regarding individual postings and department wise changes are available in the official government order issued by the General Administration Department.
