In a swift and well coordinated operation, the Begumpet Police cracked two dacoity cases within just 24 hours, arresting four accused and one Child in Conflict with Law (CCL) belonging to a six member gang involved in late night assaults and robberies near Parade Grounds and Clock Tower, Secunderabad.
The incidents occurred on the nights of November 2 and 3, 2025, when victims were attacked, threatened at knifepoint and robbed of cash, wristwatches and even forced mobile based money transfers.
The Modus Operandi
- According to police reports, the gang members all residents of Mudfort, Sikh Village and Picket were habitual drinkers who frequently gathered at Central Wines, Bowenpally.
- After consuming alcohol, they allegedly hatched plans to commit dacoities, targeting individuals travelling alone at night in deserted areas.
- The gang used an auto rickshaw (TS13UD1633) owned and driven by one of the accused to commit both offences within Begumpet police limits.
- Their assaults were violent and fast executed, using weapons like a knife and a knuckle duster to intimidate victims.
The Arrests
