In a major relief for government employees and pensioners, the Telangana government has completed the clearance of ₹6,000 crore in long pending employee arrears within the promised 100 day period.
The Finance Department released the third and final installment of ₹2,000 crore on Thursday, fulfilling the commitment made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania issued the necessary orders for the fund release.
The dues were paid in three phases:
- ₹2,000 crore released on May 29
- ₹2,000 crore released on June 30
- Final ₹2,000 crore released on July 30
With the final installment, the government has cleared all long pending commutation arrears of retired employees and settled several pending claims, including General Provident Fund (GPF) dues.
The state government said the move demonstrates its commitment to the welfare of serving and retired employees despite financial constraints. It also assured that the remaining pending dues would be cleared in a phased and systematic manner.
Employee Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders welcomed the decision and appreciated the government for honoring its promise. They said the release of the funds would provide significant financial relief to thousands of employees and pensioners who had been waiting for their pending payments.
The government reiterated that employee welfare remains a priority and that efforts will continue to ensure timely settlement of all outstanding financial commitments.
