50 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections seized, two suppliers and two consumers among those apprehended
- The Commissioner’s Task Force, Golconda Zone, along with Goshamahal Police, has busted an alleged illegal supply network involving Mephentermine Sulphate injections and apprehended four persons in Hyderabad.
- According to police, the accused were allegedly involved in procuring, supplying, selling and consuming the injections without a valid prescription or licence.
- The four accused were identified as Gowtham Singh (24), allegedly the main supplier R. Abhilash (19), allegedly a sub supplier; and Siddesh Aundekar (19) and Daksh Upadhyay (20), who police identified as consumers.
Injections allegedly procured through WhatsApp
- Police said Gowtham Singh, with the assistance of Abhilash, allegedly procured the injections from an outside supplier through WhatsApp and supplied them to customers in the Goshamahal area at inflated prices.
- Acting on credible information, the Task Force and Goshamahal Police intercepted the accused near MJ Bridge in Begum Bazar while they were allegedly carrying the injections for sale.
Seizure worth approximately ₹1.85 lakh
During the operation, police seized:
➤ 50 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate injections
➤ 5 empty vials
➤ 5 BD U-40 insulin injections
➤ 4 mobile phones
➤ 1 Burgman two wheeler
The total value of the seized property was estimated at approximately ₹1.85 lakh.
Case registered
- A case has been registered at Goshamahal Police Station under Crime No. 298/2026.
- Police booked the accused under Sections 318(4), 125 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 18(c) read with 27(b)(ii) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Police operation
- The operation was conducted under the supervision of Inspector M. Mahesh, Task Force, Golconda Zone.
- SI N. Naveen, along with Task Force personnel and Goshamahal Police staff, took part in the operation.
- Police said further investigation is underway to identify the alleged outside supplier and determine the wider network involved in the procurement and distribution of the injections.
