OMCs Slash Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices by ₹183.50, No Relief for Domestic Consumers

India’s state owned Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹183.50, effective 1 July 2026, marking the first major cut in commercial LPG prices this year. The move is expected to provide significant relief to Restaurants, Hotels, Caterers and other businesses that rely heavily on commercial cooking gas.

Following the revision, the retail price of a commercial LPG cylinder has fallen across major cities. In Delhi, for example, the price has dropped to around ₹2,930 per 19 kg cylinder, with similar reductions implemented in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and other cities.

However, there is no change in the price of the standard 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder, meaning household consumers will not receive any immediate relief in cooking gas costs. OMCs review LPG prices at the beginning of every month based on international LPG prices, exchange rates, and market conditions, while domestic cylinder prices are also influenced by government policy.

The latest reduction comes after commercial LPG prices had risen sharply in recent months due to supply disruptions and geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. With fuel supplies stabilizing and market conditions improving, OMCs have now rolled back a significant portion of those increases.

Industry experts believe the price cut will help reduce operating costs for food service businesses and may ease inflationary pressure in sectors that depend on commercial LPG, although any benefit to consumers will depend on whether businesses pass on the savings.
