The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a trap at the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO) office in Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district, on October 5 in connection with an alleged bribery case.
According to the ACB, three people have been booked in the case, including DM&HO Smt. Swarna Kumari, Health Inspector M. Srinivas, and private driver Madduri Krishnajah.
₹2 Lakh Bribe Allegedly Demanded
- The ACB alleged that Krishnajah, on the instructions of Swarna Kumari and M. Srinivas, demanded ₹2 lakh from a complainant in connection with a private physiotherapy centre.
- According to the ACB, the alleged bribe was sought for returning the seized keys of the centre, avoiding further action over its alleged operation without a DM&HO licence, and facilitating the issuance of a new DM&HO licence.
- During the trap operation, Krishnajah allegedly accepted ₹1 lakh. The ACB said the alleged bribe amount was subsequently recovered from his possession.
Officials Booked in Case
- The ACB has alleged that the two officials improperly and dishonestly performed their official duties with the intention of obtaining an undue advantage.
- The three accused are being produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
- The case remains under investigation. The identity of the complainant has been withheld by the authorities for security reasons.
