International Delegates from Oman, UAE-GCC, Malawi & Across India Converge at Taj Vivanta, Jammu to Honour 26 Icons of Dogra Pride, Culture, Service & Excellence
History was scripted in the winter capital today as Global Human Rights Trust (GHRT) International hosted the landmark first edition of the Jammu Rising Summit 1.0 – 2026, paired with the Duggar Da Sammaan 2026 awards ceremony, at the Taj Vivanta, Jammu celebrating the eve of the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, the visionary ruler whose legacy of unity, reform and inclusive governance continues to inspire the region.
The twin event the first of its kind international gathering hosted by GHRT in Jammu brought together a distinguished confluence of parliamentarians, former Members of Parliament, trade commissioners, spiritual leaders, global entrepreneurs, academicians, artists and changemakers from 14 nations, transforming Jammu into a stage for international dialogue on leadership, innovation, culture, business, collaboration and human values.
THE VISION BEHIND THE SUMMIT
For Dr. H. R. Rahman, Chairman & CEO, GHRT International, the Jammu Rising Summit is the fulfilment of a long held conviction: that Jammu is not a footnote to India’s story, but a chapter that deserves to be read by the world.
“For years I have watched the talent of this land remain unseen the artisan, the entrepreneur, the student, the artist, the soldier’s family. My vision was simple: build a stage so large that the world has no choice but to look at Jammu,” said Dr. Rahman.
Outlining his vision for the platform, he added:
“Jammu Rising is not a one day event. It is the beginning of a movement. My dream is that within the next five years, a young entrepreneur from Poonch or Doda or Rajouri will sit across the table from an investor in Dubai or Muscat because of a connection made in this room tonight. I want Jammu to be known globally not for its problems, but for its potential and Duggar Da Sammaan is how we honour those who have already walked that path.”
Dr. Rahman further dedicated the evening to the memory and legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, noting that the occasion was deliberately chosen for the eve of his birth anniversary “because his belief in unity, dignity and equal opportunity for every citizen of this land remains the founding spirit of everything GHRT stands for.”
He also announced GHRT’s forward roadmap: a permanent Jammu Rising Summit secretariat, an annual edition with expanding international participation, and dedicated youth, women and MSME tracks to translate the summit’s dialogue into real opportunity on the ground.
AN INTERNATIONAL ASSEMBLY AT THE HEART OF DOGRA LAND
Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Shri Gulam Ali Khatana, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Jammu & Kashmir, lauded GHRT International’s initiative in placing Jammu on the global map, emphasising the region’s immense potential in tribal welfare, education, healthcare, tourism, infrastructure, rural development and employment.
H.E. Ahmed Mohamed Yahya Al-Hadabi, Former Member of Parliament, Sultanate of Oman, and Chairman & CEO, SUR Refinery Company LLC Guest of Honour brought an international perspective on investment, industry
and India-Oman cooperation.
H.E. Zeenat Kureshi, Trade Commissioner – GCC, Asian Arab Council, delivered the summit keynote, “Connecting Jammu & Kashmir with the GCC: New Horizons for Trade, Tourism & Investment.”
She was joined by Dr. Sanket Sampat Kharpude, Investment & Trade Commissioner, Malawi – Africa, as Special VIP Guest, and Swami Naveen Ji Maharaj of Shri Kalki Dham Ashram, Maa Pitambara Peeth, Datia (M.P.) — Special VIP Guest — who invoked the timeless values of Sanatan Dharma, peace, humanity and cultural unity.
The Jammu Rising Summit 1.0 featured a power-packed speaker line-up of distinguished voices from across India, including Dr.

The evening’s emotional crescendo was the Duggar Da Sammaan 2026, where 26 exceptional personalities were felicitated for their outstanding contribution to society, culture and the nation.
