Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught two police officers from Keesara Police Station in Malkajgiri Zone while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹5 lakh.

According to an ACB press note dated September 17, 2026, the incident took place on September 16 at around 11:25 PM. The officers were identified as:

  • Sri Arkapally Anjaneyulu, Inspector of Police and SHO, Keesara Police Station (AO-1)

  • The alleged bribe was demanded in connection with a case already registered at Keesara Police Station. According to the ACB, the money was sought for granting station bail and for not allegedly harassing the complainant and his friend in the case.
  • The ACB recovered the tainted amount of ₹5 lakh from the possession of the Sub-Inspector at his instance.
  • The ACB stated that the two officers had allegedly acted improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.
  • Both officers are being produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand. The case is currently under investigation.

The ACB has withheld the complainant’s details for security reasons.
