The Telangana Election Commission has released the draft voter list under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The draft list contains around 2.65 crore voters across the state.
Around 73.39 lakh names have been left out of the draft list. About 92 lakh voters may receive notices for verification because of issues such as missing information, unmapped records or other discrepancies.
Hyderabad sees large number of flagged voters
Hyderabad has recorded the highest number of flagged voters, with more than 6 lakh names reportedly requiring verification. Bahadurpura has recorded the highest number within the Hyderabad area.
Being flagged or left out of the draft list does not automatically mean a person has lost their voting rights. Eligible voters can raise claims or objections during the revision process.
How to check your name
Voters should check their name in the latest Telangana SIR draft voter list using their Voter ID/EPIC number or other available details.
If your name is missing or any information is incorrect, contact your Booth Level Officer (BLO) or the concerned election authorities and submit a claim or objection within the given deadline.
What voters should do
- Check your name in the SIR draft voter list.
- Verify your address and other details.
- Check whether your name has been excluded.
- Respond if you receive a verification notice.
- Contact your BLO if you find any problem.
- Submit a claim or objection if required.
The draft list is not the final voter list. Eligible voters should verify their details and take action if their name or information is incorrect.
