Falaknuma Police have solved the mystery behind the brutal murder of 53-year-old real estate businessman Mohammed Mehboob Ali, who was attacked near Almas Hotel in Vattepally on August 30.
Police said six accused persons and one juvenile were apprehended on September 3. According to the investigation, the murder was allegedly planned over a superstition that the victim had performed black magic on the mother of one of the accused and was linked to the death of his maternal uncle.
Police said the accused allegedly intercepted Mehboob Ali and attacked him with knives and daggers, causing multiple injuries. He later died while undergoing treatment at Princess Esra Hospital.
Police seized two Activa two wheelers, six knives/daggers and three mobile phones allegedly used in the crime.
Police appealed to the public not to believe in black magic or other superstitions and urged people to approach the police instead of taking the law into their own hands.
