In a significant achievement for higher education in India, Osmania University has become the first university in the country to receive ISO certifications in four major categories, reinforcing its commitment to Academic excellence, Quality management, Environmental sustainability and Institutional governance.
According to university officials, the prestigious certifications recognize the institution’s efforts in maintaining high standards across academics, administration, environmental management and energy conservation. The achievement is being viewed as a major milestone for one of India’s oldest and most respected universities.
The certifications include:
➤ ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems
➤ ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems
➤ ISO 50001:2018 for Energy Management Systems
➤ Certification covering academic and administrative audit standards and institutional best practices.
University authorities stated that extensive audits were conducted across departments, centres and administrative units before the certifications were awarded. External evaluators reviewed academic processes, Governance mechanisms, Sustainability initiatives, Energy efficiency measures and Quality assurance practices.
Officials said the recognition reflects Osmania University’s continuous efforts to modernize its academic and administrative systems while maintaining international standards. The university believes the certifications will further strengthen its reputation among students, researchers, employers and global academic institutions.
