In a major anti drug crackdown, the Commissioner’s Task Force in coordination with Mehdipatnam Police Station apprehended one drug peddler, three sub-peddlers and four consumers involved in the illegal procurement, transportation and distribution of MDMA in Hyderabad.
Acting on credible information, police conducted an operation within the limits of Mehdipatnam Police Station and seized 137.60 grams of MDMA, one Volvo XC90 car, nine mobile phones and several packing materials including a weighing machine, hammer, envelopes and rubber bands. The total value of the seized property is estimated at approximately ₹26.80 lakhs.
According to investigators, the main accused, M. Shubham Kumar Mishra, was allegedly procuring MDMA through his associate Busa Sai Nikhil Yadav alias Sai, who had earlier been arrested in an NDPS case by Chilkalguda Police.
Police stated that after Sai’s arrest, Shubham Kumar Mishra allegedly continued the drug network with the assistance of Soham Nayak alias Jittu, Kalangi Rajesh and Munthun Kumar, who worked as sub-peddlers and delivery facilitators.
The accused reportedly repackaged MDMA into smaller packets and supplied the narcotic substance to consumers across Hyderabad and surrounding areas through direct delivery and Rapido services.
Investigators revealed that consumers were purchasing MDMA for personal use at prices ranging from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 per gram.
The Hyderabad City Police reiterated its commitment to controlling narcotic drug activities and warned of stringent action against drug peddlers and consumers involved in illegal activities.
Police also appealed to youth and students not to fall prey to drugs and advised parents to closely monitor their children’s activities. Citizens were urged to share credible information related to narcotics and anti social activities to help build a drug free city.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Vaibhav Raghunath Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City, along with officers and staff of the Golconda Zone Task Force and Mehdipatnam Police Station.
