New Delhi: Opposition parties in India staged protests outside Parliament, raising concerns over a growing shortage of cooking gas that they say has been worsened by the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
Leaders and activists accused the government of failing to manage fuel supplies effectively, as disruptions in global energy routes have impacted liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) availability. Protesters highlighted rising prices, delays in cylinder deliveries, and difficulties faced by households and small businesses.
The shortage is linked to supply disruptions from the Middle East, a key source of India’s LPG imports. The conflict has affected shipping routes and increased costs, tightening supply across the country.
While the government has taken steps to stabilize supplies and prioritize household consumption, opposition parties continue to demand stronger action and greater transparency on the crisis.
