Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday met National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Chairperson Kishor Makwana and other Commission members at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad. During the meeting, the Chief Minister outlined the state’s initiatives aimed at strengthening education and promoting the welfare of Scheduled Castes.

Revanth Reddy briefed the NCSC delegation on the government’s education reforms, particularly the establishment of Young India Integrated Residential Schools (YIIRS) in every Assembly constituency. The schools, being built on 25 acres each, are intended to provide inclusive, high quality education while helping eliminate caste based discrimination among students. The government aims to begin operations in the next academic year.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the Telangana Public Schools initiative, which will offer education from nursery to Class 12, along with breakfast, lunch and transportation facilities. He said the first phase of these schools would be launched in the state’s core urban areas.

On Scheduled Caste welfare, Revanth Reddy said the government is providing greater representation to SC communities in key positions across politics and other sectors. He also informed the Commission that the process of implementing SC sub-categorisation is being completed.

The Chief Minister requested the National Commission to facilitate greater support from the Central Government for the welfare and development of Scheduled Castes in Telangana.

Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Government Adviser Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, DGP C.V. Anand, NCSC members and senior state government officials attended the meeting.
