Police have uncovered a property mortgage fraud racket in which real estate brokers allegedly cheated multiple victims by posing as property owners and executing fake mortgage agreements. The scam came to light following a complaint, leading to a detailed investigation that exposed a planned operation.
According to officials, five accused have been identified in connection with the case. The main accused, Shaik Omer Amoodi (24), a real estate broker, has been arrested and reportedly confessed to his involvement. Another accused, Mohammed Bin Osman Masqati (26), is currently absconding.
The remaining accused Mohammed Basith, Ali Jabri and Shakeer Hussain are also on the run. Police have launched efforts to trace and apprehend them, while further investigation is underway to identify additional victims and the full extent of the fraud.
