Abbas Araghchi has said that Iran is prepared to defend itself for “As long as it takes” amid ongoing tensions and attacks involving the United States and Israel.
In his latest remarks, Araghchi stated that Iran’s actions are part of what he described as legitimate self defence and warned that the country is ready to continue its response if the conflict continues. He emphasized that Iranian forces will keep responding until what Tehran views as aggression against the country stops.
The statement came after Donald Trump said he is not ready to end the war, signaling that the conflict could continue despite growing international concern over rising tensions in the region.
The confrontation between Iran and the U.S.-Israel alliance has intensified in recent weeks, with missile strikes, air attacks, and heightened military activity raising fears of a wider regional escalation. Analysts warn that continued hostilities could further impact regional stability and global energy markets.
Iranian officials have repeatedly said the country will not yield to external pressure and will continue defending its territory and people until the conflict ends. Meanwhile, several international voices have called for diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
