The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has stepped up its political engagement ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar, seeking greater representation and influence in the state’s political process.
Party leaders said AIMIM is holding discussions with other political groups regarding possible support arrangements and negotiations related to the upcoming polls. The party is reportedly exploring options that could help it secure a voice in the Upper House through alliances or strategic backing.
AIMIM, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, has been gradually expanding its presence outside its traditional base, including in parts of Bihar where the party has gained support in recent elections.
Sources within the party say the negotiations are focused on ensuring fair representation for communities that AIMIM claims to represent. Party leaders have emphasized that their priority is to strengthen political participation and ensure that regional concerns are reflected at the national level.
Political analysts say the discussions could influence the final outcome of the Rajya Sabha polls in Bihar, where alliances and vote calculations often play a decisive role.
The Rajya Sabha elections in the state are expected to see intense negotiations among parties as they attempt to secure the numbers needed to send their candidates to Parliament.
