Middle East: The deadly conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran has resulted in significant loss of life across the region, with fighting and retaliatory strikes continuing into its fourth day.
According to humanitarian and local sources, Iran has suffered the highest number of fatalities since joint U.S. and Israeli operations began. The Iranian Red Crescent Society reports at least 787 people killed in Iran as of early March, with strikes hitting more than 150 cities and many injuries still unaccounted for. These figures include civilian and military casualties and may change as information from the ground continues to emerge.
In Israel, emergency services have recorded around 10 deaths from Iranian missile and drone attacks, largely among civilians, while military authorities have not reported significant combat fatalities.
The United States military has confirmed the deaths of six service members in the conflict, following strikes on U.S. facilities in the region.
Casualties have also been reported in other countries affected by the broader escalation, including Lebanon where clashes with Iranian aligned groups such as Hezbollah have caused dozens of fatalities plus individual deaths in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and the United Arab Emirates due to missile interceptions or related explosions.
Humanitarian organizations warn that total casualty figures may be higher than publicly reported, as communication blackouts, restricted access and ongoing combat make independent verification difficult.
