Woman Kills Son for ₹1 Crore Insurance to Be With Lover Police Uncover Shocking Crime

a mother killed her own son for 1crore insurance

In a deeply disturbing incident, police in Kanpur Dehat have arrested a woman accused of murdering her own 10 year old son for the sake of a ₹1 crore life insurance claim. The motive, police say, was to fund a new life with her lover.

According to investigators, the accused identified as Nisha (35) had secretly taken out an insurance policy in her son’s name earlier this year. When financial distress and her extramarital affair with a local man intensified, she allegedly planned her son’s death to claim the policy amount.

Police said the crime was executed with chilling precision. On October 28, Nisha reportedly administered a sedative to her son before drowning him in a water tank. She then staged the scene to appear as an accidental drowning.

However, inconsistencies in her statements and forensic evidence raised suspicion. Upon interrogation, she broke down and confessed to the crime. Police have also detained her alleged lover, Ravi Yadav, for his involvement in the conspiracy.

District SP S. Anand stated,

“It’s one of the most heart wrenching cases we have seen in recent years. The mother meticulously planned her own child’s murder for financial gain. We will ensure the strongest legal action.”

Case Registered and Sent for Trial

A murder case under Section 302 (murder) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. The accused has been remanded to judicial custody.

Public Awareness Message

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and discussion about the growing greed driven crimes linked to financial distress and insurance fraud. Experts urge citizens to recognize the psychological and social warning signs in families facing economic or emotional turmoil.
