Saudi Crown Prince Holds Key Meetings with Leaders at Doha Summit

Saudi Crown Prince

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman engaged in a series of high level meetings with regional leaders on the sidelines of the emergency Arab Islamic summit held in Doha on September 15, 2025.

The summit convened in response to Israel’s September 9 airstrike in Doha, which targeted Hamas leaders and resulted in five Hamas officials’ deaths and one Qatari security officer’s death.

During the summit, Prince Mohammed met with several key figures, including:

  • Jordan’s King Abdullah II
  • Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani
  • Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa
  • Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian
  • Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
  • Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

These discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, addressing regional security concerns, and coordinating responses to the escalating tensions following the Israeli strike.

In addition to these bilateral meetings, Prince Mohammed led Saudi Arabia’s delegation at the extraordinary session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held during the summit. The GCC reaffirmed its commitment to collective defense and solidarity with Qatar, condemning Israel’s actions as violations of regional sovereignty.

Following the summit, Prince Mohammed sent a cable of thanks to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing appreciation for Qatar’s leadership in convening the summit and for the collective efforts to address the crisis.

The summit underscored the region’s collective stance against Israeli actions in Doha and highlighted the importance of unity among Arab and Muslim nations in addressing shared security challenges.
