Trump Claims Iran Uranium Transfer in Peace Deal, Tehran Disagrees

uranium remain inside the country

Donald Trump has said that Iran’s enriched uranium would be transferred to the United States under any future peace agreement, adding that Washington is prepared to help recover nuclear material from facilities damaged in earlier U.S. strikes.

Speaking about ongoing negotiations, Trump suggested that a deal with Iran is progressing and claimed that key conditions, including control over Tehran’s nuclear materials, are being worked out. He indicated that the U.S. could assist in extracting uranium from sites impacted during last year’s conflict, describing it as part of ensuring long term nuclear security.

However, Iranian officials have not confirmed any such agreement. Authorities in Tehran have signaled that while negotiations are ongoing, they are unlikely to accept full transfer of enriched uranium outside the country, maintaining that their nuclear program remains a sovereign matter.

The issue of uranium control has emerged as a central sticking point in talks between the two sides. Washington is seeking strict limits on Iran’s nuclear capabilities, including removal or neutralization of enriched uranium stockpiles, while Iran is pushing for sanctions relief and an end to U.S. military and economic pressure.

The comments come amid heightened regional tensions, including disputes over maritime security and Iran’s earlier warnings about the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil route.

Despite signals of progress, significant gaps remain between the two sides, and no final agreement has been announced. Analysts say public statements from both Washington and Tehran reflect ongoing negotiation pressure, with each side presenting its position ahead of any potential deal.
