Hyderabad: Telangana Social Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar on Wednesday said that no eligible student should be denied admission to Gurukul institutions due to administrative lapses or negligence. He made the remarks during a surprise inspection of the TGSWREIS headquarters at DSS Bhavan in Hyderabad.
The Minister reviewed the Gurukul admission process, met parents from different districts, and heard grievances regarding seat allotments in faraway districts, which many said were causing financial and transportation difficulties.
He directed officials to ensure transparent, fair and student-friendly seat allotments, examine every representation carefully, and allot seats in nearby districts wherever possible within the rules. Officials were also instructed to treat parents with courtesy and provide proper guidance.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of some officials, Adluri Lakshman Kumar said the Telangana Government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, is investing heavily in strengthening the Gurukul education system through better infrastructure, nutrition, residential facilities and quality education.
The Minister reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring that no poor or deserving student is deprived of educational opportunities and directed officials to work with responsibility, empathy and transparency.
