The alleged NEET paper leak controversy has once again triggered a major political storm in India, with several opposition leaders strongly criticizing the Central government and accusing it of failing to protect the future of students.
Leaders from opposition parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party and members of the INDIA alliance have launched coordinated attacks against the government, claiming repeated exam paper leaks have damaged trust in the country’s education and recruitment systems.
Alka Lamba sharply criticized the government and alleged that people in power were not taking paper leak incidents seriously. She claimed students spend years preparing for competitive examinations while repeated leaks destroy their hard work and mental peace.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also targeted the Modi government, accusing it of failing to ensure fair examinations for students. He said recurring paper leak incidents have created fear and uncertainty among millions of young aspirants across India.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge described the situation as a serious failure of governance and demanded strict accountability from authorities responsible for conducting examinations.
Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav and several other opposition leaders also questioned the government’s ability to maintain transparency and security in major national examinations.
The controversy has reignited debate over repeated paper leak incidents reported in various recruitment and entrance examinations across India over the past several years. Opposition parties claim that such incidents are destroying students’ trust in the examination system and creating frustration among unemployed youth.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is one of India’s biggest medical entrance examinations, conducted for admission into MBBS and other medical courses. Every year, millions of students appear for the examination after months or years of preparation.
Student groups and activists in several states have also demanded stronger anti-paper leak laws, stricter digital security systems and harsher punishment for those involved in exam fraud.
The Central government and examination authorities have defended their actions and stated that investigations are being conducted wherever irregularities are reported. Officials maintain that strict measures are being taken to ensure transparency and fairness in examinations.
However, the issue has now turned into a major political flashpoint, with opposition parties continuing to accuse the government of failing to protect students’ futures and maintain the integrity of competitive examinations in India.
