Hyderabad: Tolichowki Police have arrested eight accused in connection with an alleged minor trafficking, sexual exploitation and prostitution case registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA).
According to the police press note, all eight accused were apprehended on October 9, 2026, and produced before the court.
How the Alleged Crime Took Place
- According to the complaint and police account, the incident began on September 2, 2026, when the minor girl was allegedly taken from Tolichowki in an auto rickshaw and transported to Attapur.
- Police allege that two women subsequently handed the girl over to another woman identified as the alleged organiser of a brothel near Pillar No. 200 in Attapur. The press note states that ₹30,000 was allegedly paid in connection with the transfer, with the money reportedly shared among some of the accused.
- The victim was allegedly lured with promises of food and accommodation before being forced into prostitution. Police further allege that other accused persons facilitated customers and related activities.
- The girl reportedly escaped from the premises on October 5, 2026, returned home and informed her family members. A complaint was subsequently lodged with Tolichowki Police, who initiated an investigation.
Eight Accused Arrested
Police identified the eight accused in the case as:
- Shaik Atif
- Sabiya Begum
- Mohammed Hajimiya
- Afreen, also known as Sana
- Samreen Begum
- Md. Nadeem
- Md. Kaifuddin
- Ali Bin Akram
The allegations against the individuals remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.
Police Seize Six Mobile Phones and an Auto Rickshaw
- During the investigation, police seized six mobile phones and an auto rickshaw bearing registration number TS 30 T 8350, which is allegedly connected to the case.
- The case has been registered as Crime No. 473/2026 at Tolichowki Police Station under relevant provisions of the BNS, the POCSO Act and the ITPA.
Police Team Recognised for Swift Detection
- The case was detected by the team led by Tolichowki Police Station SHO L. Ramesh Naik, Additional Inspector G. Balraj and SI S. Ravi Kumar, along with other police personnel.
- The team worked under the guidance of Syed Fiaz, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Tolichowki Division, and the direct supervision of J. Raghavendar Reddy, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Golconda Zone, according to the police press note.
Investigation Continues
- The case highlights the serious concerns surrounding child trafficking and the sexual exploitation of minors. The investigation will establish the precise roles of the accused and the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences.
- The identity of the minor victim is being withheld to protect her privacy, as required by law. All accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty before a court of law.
