Mangalhat Police have arrested seven people in connection with the alleged murder of 24 year old Sainath Singh at Raheempura, near SSK Samaj, Mangalhat, Hyderabad.
According to police, a complaint was received on September 28 from Sony Singh, the deceased’s sister and a resident of Shivlalnagar, Dhoolpet. She alleged that Sainath Singh was murdered by known persons following a dispute involving his alleged relationship with one of the accused.
Based on the complaint, Mangalhat Police registered Crime No. 88/2026 under Section 103(1) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and began an investigation.
Seven Arrested
Police said the following seven accused were apprehended on September 30:
- Chidiyawale Anisha Singh, 25, telecaller, resident of Dholpet.
- Makhan Badal Singh, 24, general store operator, resident of Shivlal Nagar, Mangalhat.
- Akash Singh, 21, private employee, resident of Shivlal Nagar, Mangalhat.
- Abhishek, 23, Ganesh idol maker, resident of Raheempura, Mangalhat.
- Poojari Lakhan Singh, 33, private employee, resident of Mangalhat.
- Akshay Singh alias Akashay, 30, private employee, resident of Raheempura, Mangalhat.
- Degan Nanditha alias Nandini, 24, homemaker, resident of Raheempura, Mangalhat.
Police said all seven accused were arrested and would be produced before the court.
Six Mobile Phones and Two Vehicles Seized
During the investigation, police seized:
- Six mobile phones
- Two two wheelers a Maestro and an Activa
Police said CCTV footage and other investigation efforts helped investigators identify the accused persons.
Police Version of the Alleged Motive
- According to the investigation, police suspect that a dispute surrounding an alleged relationship between A-1 Anisha Singh and the deceased was behind the murder.
- Police said Anisha had allegedly been in contact with Sainath Singh for several years. According to the police account, Anisha’s husband and family members had previously warned Sainath to discontinue contact with her.
- Police further alleged that despite the warnings, Sainath continued to contact Anisha through social media and allegedly pressured her to meet him.
- According to police, the dispute subsequently escalated and Anisha allegedly planned the attack with the other accused.
- Police allege that on September 28, Sainath was called to a house in Raheempura, where he was allegedly assaulted and strangulated using a chunni. He subsequently died.
- These allegations form part of the ongoing police investigation and will be subject to judicial proceedings.
Previous Cases
- Police records cited in the release state that A-1 Anisha Singh had previously been involved in a case registered under the NDPS Act at Mangalhat Police Station.
- A-2 Makhan Badal Singh was previously involved in several cases registered at Mangalhat Police Station between 2024 and 2026 under provisions relating to gambling and excise offences, according to police records.
- A-5 Poojari Lakhan Singh was previously involved in cases registered at Begum Bazar Police Station and Mangalhat Police Station, including a 2009 case under Section 324 IPC and a 2023 case under the NDPS Act, according to the police release.
Investigation Continues
- Police said the arrests were made based on credible information after examining CCTV footage and other evidence collected during the investigation.
- The case remains under investigation, and the accused will face the judicial process. The allegations against them have not been established by a court at this stage.
- The operation was carried out under the supervision and guidance of J. Raghavender Reddy, DCP, Golconda Zone, V. Tirupathi, ACP, Kulsumpura Division, and the Mangalhat Police team, including SHO S. Raghvendra, DI P. Mahender, SI B. Naresh and other staff.
