The Fast Track Special Court for Trial and Disposal of Rape and POCSO Act Cases at L.B. Nagar, Ranga Reddy District, has sentenced a 30 year old man to life imprisonment in a POCSO case registered at Pahadi Shareef Police Station.
According to the police, the accused, Mohammed Munawar Hussain, a teacher at a madrasa in Mamidipally village, was convicted in connection with Crime No. 09/2025, registered under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 5(f)(l) and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
The court also imposed a fine of ₹25,500 and awarded ₹2 lakh as compensation to the victim, according to the police statement.
Case Background
- Police said the case was registered after the family of a 13 year old boy, who was studying at the madrasa, approached the police in January 2025.
- According to the complaint, the child had returned home in December 2024 after falling ill. During a medical examination, doctors reportedly detected an infection in his private parts.
- Police said the child subsequently disclosed to his mother that he had been sexually assaulted by the accused, who was working as a teacher at the madrasa. The family then approached the police, leading to the registration of the case.
- The survivor’s identity and other identifying details have not been disclosed to protect the child.
Investigation and Prosecution
- The investigation was conducted by Ch. Jithender, Detective Inspector of Police, Pahadi Shareef Police Station, and P. Guruva Reddy, Inspector of Police, Pahadi Shareef Police Station.
- The prosecution team included Additional Public Prosecutor Krishna Prasanna, along with police personnel who assisted with documentation, summons and coordination with the Women Safety Wing.
- Based on the evidence presented before the court, the accused was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
- Senior police officials commended the investigating officers, prosecution team and supporting personnel for their efforts in presenting the case before the court.
