The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Nalgonda Range Unit, has arrested a Revenue Inspector and a private person in an alleged bribery case involving a demand for ₹15,000, according to an ACB press note issued on Monday.
The accused officer was identified as Rallabandi Gopa Raju, Revenue Inspector in the Office of the Tahsildar cum Joint Sub-Registrar, Nampally Mandal, Nalgonda District.
According to the ACB, the officer allegedly demanded and accepted a ₹15,000 bribe from the complainant through a second accused, Adulla Yadagiri, a private person who was allegedly working as an agent for the Revenue Inspector.
Bribe Allegedly Sought for Official Favour
- The ACB said the alleged bribe was demanded in connection with an official favour involving the complainant’s agricultural land.
- According to the press note, the favour related to submitting a Panchanama report prepared in connection with the complainant’s agricultural land to the Tahsildar.
- The ACB’s Nalgonda Range Unit reportedly caught the accused during the operation after the alleged bribe amount was demanded and accepted.
- The ₹15,000 allegedly paid as bribe was recovered from the possession of the second accused, the ACB said.
Two Accused Arrested
- The ACB stated that both accused were arrested and would be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand.
- The case remains under investigation and the details of the complainant have been withheld by the ACB for security reasons.
- The allegations against the accused are subject to the judicial process and further investigation is underway.
