New Delhi: The CJP-led protest has transformed from a student movement into a nationwide campaign, gathering momentum with the support of Gen Z, Bollywood celebrities and civil society. As demonstrations continue across the country, pressure is mounting on the Central Government to move beyond discussions and announce concrete measures.
Thousands of protesters have taken to the streets in Delhi and several other cities, demanding action on the issues raised by the movement. Despite heavy security deployment, barricades, detentions and repeated clashes with police near Parliament, protesters have vowed to continue their agitation until their demands are addressed.
The movement has received a significant boost from Bollywood, with actor Imran Khan joining a growing list of celebrities who have publicly backed the protest. More than 20 actors, filmmakers, musicians and public figures have expressed solidarity, helping bring national attention to the movement and amplifying its message across social media.
One of the defining features of the protest has been the role of Gen Z, who have turned social media into a powerful platform for the movement. Viral songs, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and digital campaigns have become the voice of the protest, reaching millions of people across the country. Rather than relying only on slogans, young protesters have used music, storytelling and creative content to mobilize support and keep the movement in the national spotlight. The indie song “Taare” has emerged as an unofficial anthem, symbolizing resilience and hope among the protesters.
The growing online campaign has significantly expanded the movement’s reach, attracting support from students, professionals, and public figures well beyond the protest sites. The combination of street demonstrations and digital activism has made the CJP protest one of the most visible youth-led movements in recent years.
As public support continued to grow, the Central Government initiated talks with CJP representatives. BJP President J.P. Nadda met protest leaders following the “Chalo Sansad” march to discuss their concerns. While the government has appealed for peace and dialogue, protest leaders have stated that they will continue demonstrations until tangible decisions are announced.
Meanwhile, security remains on high alert across central Delhi following repeated confrontations between protesters and police. Additional personnel have been deployed around Parliament and other sensitive locations as authorities seek to prevent further unrest.
With sustained demonstrations, expanding celebrity support and a powerful digital campaign led by Gen Z, the CJP protest has emerged as a major political and social challenge. As negotiations continue, attention is now focused on whether the government will translate dialogue into decisive action or face an increasingly energized movement in the days ahead.
