A 26 year old Indian origin man, identified as Gurbhej Singh, was fatally stabbed in Southall, west London, prompting a murder investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
According to police, officers and paramedics were called to North Road, near the junction with Dormers Wells Lane, during the early hours after reports of a stabbing. Gurbhej Singh had suffered a knife wound and despite efforts by emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man in his 30s was also injured in the incident and was later discharged from hospital.
Investigators revealed that Gurbhej Singh was originally from Punjab, India, and had moved to the United Kingdom in 2022 in search of better opportunities. Reports said his family had spent nearly ₹24 lakh to facilitate his move abroad. His death has left his family and community in deep shock.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command said that homicide detectives continue to investigate the tragic death and that their thoughts remain with the victim’s family and loved ones.
Police have appealed to witnesses and anyone with information, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings from the area to come forward to assist with the investigation. No arrests have been officially announced so far.
