Centre Raises Commercial LPG Allocation to 50%

New Delhi: The central government has increased the allocation of commercial LPG cylinders to 50% for states and Union Territories, aiming to strengthen supply and meet rising demand from businesses and service sectors.

Officials said the move is intended to support commercial establishments such as hotels, restaurants, and small enterprises that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations. The revised allocation is expected to improve availability and reduce supply constraints in key urban and semi urban areas.

Authorities noted that the decision comes amid fluctuating demand patterns and is part of efforts to ensure a balanced distribution between domestic and commercial consumers. By enhancing supply to the commercial segment, the government aims to ease pressure on businesses and maintain smooth functioning across sectors.

The Centre also emphasized that it will continue to monitor the supply situation closely and make further adjustments if needed, ensuring uninterrupted access to LPG across the country.
