Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Authority (HYDRAA) conducted a significant demolition operation in Gajularamaram, Hyderabad, targeting unauthorized constructions on government land.
Key Details:
- Location & Land Details: The operation focused on Survey No. 397 in the Gajularamaram area, where approximately 100 acres of government land had been encroached upon. This land, originally allotted to various government bodies, had remained unused for years, paving the way for large-scale encroachments.
- Illegal Constructions: Encroachers had constructed single bedroom houses measuring 60–70 square yards each, selling them for around ₹10 lakh per unit.
- Protests: During the demolition drive, local residents staged protests, claiming they had purchased the houses in good faith and demanding action against the individuals who sold them the plots.
- Future Plans: HYDRAA plans to secure all 300 acres of government land in the area with fencing to prevent further encroachments.
This operation underscores HYDRAA’s commitment to reclaiming encroached government land and ensuring its proper utilization.
