The Telangana government has decided to issue a notice to former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his family members in connection with a land record discrepancy involving 45 acres near his farmhouse in Erravalli village of Siddipet district.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed the latest survey findings with Revenue Department officials and directed them to trace the 45 acres that could not be accounted for during the physical survey.

388 Acres Recorded, 343 Acres Located

  • According to the government, 388 acres are recorded under Survey No. 325 in Erravalli village. However, officials conducting the survey reportedly located only 343 acres, leaving a difference of 45 acres between the recorded and physically identified land.
  • The government has referred to the 45 acres as “missing” from the survey records. However, this does not by itself establish that the land was illegally occupied or taken by KCR or his family. Authorities are investigating the discrepancy to determine where the land is and how the difference occurred.

Notice to KCR and Family Members

  • Revanth Reddy directed officials to issue notices to KCR and family members whose lands are located adjacent to the surveyed area.
  • They are expected to submit relevant revenue and land ownership records to help authorities identify and account for the 45 acres.
  • The government has also initiated a survey covering Erravalli and Shivar Venkatapuram villages as part of the exercise.

Earlier Inquiry Into Farmhouse Land

  • The latest development follows an earlier inquiry ordered by Revanth Reddy into alleged irregularities involving government land around KCR’s farmhouse.
  • In September, the Chief Minister directed officials to examine the land records and determine the extent of land purchased and held by KCR and the status of government land in the area.
  • The allegations are part of the government’s inquiry and have not been established as facts by a court.

Government Plans

  • The Chief Minister has directed officials to identify and recover the land if it is found to be government property. The government has indicated that eligible farmers could be considered for land distribution.
  • Revanth Reddy has also directed the Housing Department to work on a residential colony for families of Telangana statehood martyrs, with a target of completing the project before June 2, 2027, Telangana Formation Day.

What Happens Next?

  • Revenue authorities are expected to examine the land documents submitted by KCR’s family and other adjoining landholders while continuing the survey.
  • The matter remains at the survey and inquiry stage. The reported 45 acre discrepancy does not, by itself, establish wrongdoing by KCR or his family.
