India Issues Fresh Iran Advisory, Warns Citizens Against Non-Essential Travel

India has issued a fresh travel

New Delhi: The Government of India has issued a fresh travel advisory for Iran, urging Indian citizens to avoid all non-essential travel to the country despite signs of improvement in the overall security situation. The advisory was issued by the Embassy of India in Tehran amid continued concerns about regional stability and the safety of foreign nationals.

In its latest notice, the Indian Embassy said that while the security environment in Iran has shown some improvement, Indian nationals should continue to exercise caution and refrain from unnecessary travel until further notice. The embassy emphasized that the advisory remains in force as authorities continue to monitor developments in the region.

The warning follows a series of travel advisories issued by India since the beginning of the year. Earlier notices had urged Indian citizens already in Iran including students, pilgrims, business travelers and tourists to leave the country through available transport options due to evolving security concerns.

India’s Ministry of External Affairs has repeatedly advised citizens to stay alert, avoid areas affected by unrest or demonstrations, keep travel documents ready and remain in close contact with the Indian Embassy in Tehran. Emergency helpline numbers have also been made available for Indian nationals requiring assistance.

The latest advisory comes against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia that have prompted several countries to review travel guidance for the region. Although diplomatic efforts have reportedly reduced immediate risks, authorities continue to warn that the situation remains unpredictable and could change rapidly.

Indian officials have advised citizens planning international travel to regularly check updates issued by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy before making travel arrangements to Iran. The government has reiterated that the safety and security of Indian nationals remain its highest priority.
