India Condemns Pakistani Airstrikes in Afghanistan

New Delhi: India has strongly condemned Pakistan’s reported military strikes inside Afghanistan, expressing deep concern over the escalation of violence and urging all parties to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations.

According to reports, Pakistan carried out a series of air and drone strikes targeting areas in eastern Afghanistan, claiming the operations were aimed at militant groups allegedly responsible for cross border attacks. Pakistani officials have maintained that the strikes were conducted in self defense against terrorist elements operating from Afghan territory.

The Afghan Taliban government, however, condemned the attacks as a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty. Afghan authorities reported civilian casualties, including women and children, and warned that such actions could further destabilize the region. Kabul also stated that it reserves the right to defend its territorial integrity and called on the international community to prevent further violations.

Reacting to the developments, India’s Ministry of External Affairs expressed concern over the reports of cross border military action and emphasized that disputes should be resolved through dialogue rather than the use of force. India reiterated its consistent position in support of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.

The reported strikes come amid heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan over cross border militancy. Pakistan has repeatedly accused militant groups, particularly the Tehrik I Taliban Pakistan (TTP), of launching attacks from safe havens inside Afghanistan. The Afghan Taliban has denied providing shelter to the group and has urged Pakistan to resolve its internal security challenges without blaming Afghanistan.

The latest escalation has raised concerns among regional observers, who warn that continued military confrontations could worsen security conditions, increase civilian suffering and strain already fragile relations between the two neighboring countries.

Diplomatic efforts are expected to continue as regional and international stakeholders closely monitor the situation and call for restraint to prevent further escalation.
