In a major step towards improving communication and making policing more accessible to the public, Hyderabad City Police has introduced a new AI-based application designed to support smarter and more inclusive policing.
The newly launched technology aims to break language barriers between police officers and citizens by offering real-time translation and multilingual communication support. Officials said the initiative is intended to help people from different linguistic backgrounds interact more easily with law enforcement during complaints, emergencies, and routine public services.
According to police officials, the AI-powered system can assist officers in understanding and responding to citizens speaking different regional and international languages. Authorities believe the application will especially help migrants, tourists, senior citizens and people who may face communication difficulties while approaching police stations.
The move is part of Hyderabad Police’s broader push toward technology driven governance and citizen friendly policing. Officials said artificial intelligence tools can improve response time, reduce misunderstandings and create a more transparent communication process between the public and police personnel.
Police authorities also stated that the application will support field officers during patrol duties and emergency situations where quick communication is critical. Training sessions are reportedly being conducted to help personnel effectively use the new system.
The initiative has received attention as one of the latest examples of Indian police departments adopting advanced technologies to modernize law enforcement services and improve public trust.
Officials said further upgrades and additional public service features may be added to the AI platform in the future as part of Hyderabad’s smart policing initiatives.
